Dear Liberia
Guess you are still wondering why scores of kids did not really bid you farewell. Or are you still musing over our return? Anyway, I pledge never to sex-up an excuse for my generation. But if free speech is now free, I beg to bargain over some of the guilt imposed. Yes we are guilty of deserting but your revolution did not revolve around us. It was politically correct, you may argue. But we want to say-it was legally
wrong……May we add the word morally?
But …….. You see Liberia; this generation was consciously placed at the confluence of confused rivers. Remember our kinsmen from far and near begged to pay your captors a ransom? You know, Grand-pa’s shrine was profane -that’s why the ancestors’ spirit garnered courage and authorized the town crier. But he was a disaster, oh yes! No wonder, your town chief said sorry for association.
Liberia, do you remember how the triggers divided you into dangling clans? You know; Togar was born in exile just in time. By the time the storm subsided, he was fifteen and had actively born Kweku.
Sorry! He does not know you. I mean both of them. Togar speaks French, Kweku speaks Twi. Janjay and Konyon born Jay and Johana behind the sea. Both speak with curved tongues using the white man’s language. Please prepare to see them one day.
Least I forget, Brothers in the belly of Belgium say hi. Your great grand son Dolly and Fofan are OK. They have two boys who fight instead of play. Do you know they are confused? OK, Dolly lives in the French speaking area, Fofan lives in the Dutch area.
The kids can’t understand each other. Hope you will understand them in the future.
Its kind of funny. Do you know Dee…..the one I authored on the border between oversea and Afrika asked the other day whether CHICKEN has head. I did not blame him. It’s because he was not lucky enough to feed grandma’s hen.
Anyway, I got news the other day that my niece has a baby. I was later stunned when I learned it was a Chinese baby born on the anniversary of the completion of the SKD Stadium. Those Asian guys are working pretty hard overnight to develop you, Liberia….
Yours,
Deegar
